Ethan & the Presidental Debate

As you may or may not have realized, the 1st Presidentail Debate was held at our very own University of Mississippi on Friday night. Ethan is one of the Fire Inspectors at the University, so he was able to be in the debate, and also had the opportunity to see, and have his photo made with, some very famous people. I was excited to see that he met Katie Couric (I cried when she left the Today show) and Rudy Gulianni as well :) Here are the pictures, what a neat night!

9 Month Checkup

In this post Haley is 9 months 6 days old:

Hey everyone! I forgot to post on Monday after her appointment, so here is the update :)

Haley weighs 22 lbs 13 oz, is 28 1/2 inches long, and has a head circumference of 48 cm. She is in the top percentiles for everything :)

The doctor was very pleased with her development, and wants us to work on getting her totally onto table food, and off of baby food. So far she has had some roast, potatoes, carrots, purple hull peas, and other finger foods. She is doing fine with it, but we found out yesterday that gassy foods like peas make her mad :) She probably comes by that naturally :)

We are going to continue on the formula, until 11 months, when we'll transition to whole milk. That will make Ethan happy as he misses whole milk, so I guess I'll buy that for him and Haley and buy low fat for myself :)

Haley also got the first part of her flu shot on Monday, and so far so good. Her ears where "beautiful" and that was good news since we just got the bill for her tubes :) Money well spent!

Hotty Toddy Grove Day!

Yesterday Ole Miss played Vanderbuilt in their SEC home opener. Although Ole Miss did poorly, Haley definately stole the show in the Grove :) Here are some pictures!

Yea HALEY!!!

Hey everyone, I know I am WAY overdue for an update, and while I have been taking pictures, I haven't been posting like I should. I don't have a lot of time to post this morning, so here is a great "teaser" video :)

Haley turned 9 months on Thursday and we can't understand where all the time went! It has flown by! In the video you are about to watch, she is clapping, and watching her do so made me tear up! Our baby girl is growing way too fast!

We go to the doctor on Monday for our 9 month checkup, so I'll be sure and let y'all know just how HEALTHY she is! Ethan has to work tomorrow, so my goal is to get some pictures loaded for you then :) In the meantime, join with us as we say YEA HALEY!!!!

First Words!

I don't have any pictures to post, but as a dear friend reminded me, this is Haley's virtual baby book! So, I wanted to let y'all know that Haley spoke her first "real" words today.



She has been making sounds for some time, but over the past few days we have been trying to teach her to say "Bye Bye" becuase she will open and close her hand.



When I picked up Haley from daycare today, I was holding her, and we were getting ready to leave, and I told her to tell Kim "bye bye" and just like that, she said in a soft sweet voice "bye bye" I thought I was going to DIE! It was awesome, and she smiled so big!!! She said it a few more times when we said to "say bye bye" so I know she knew what she was doing! I am sure if she is anything like her Mama this is just the beginning :)

So, Monday we were home and Ethan was in the garage cleaning and I was in the kitchen. Haley was in the living room, in front of the mirror on her Karoke machine. Well, I got to thinking she was getting kinda quiet, so I went to find her...and this is what I found :) Don't worry, Ethan has the shot gun ready :)

Beach Trip

Hi everyone, hope you have all been doing well. We went to Orange Beach Alabama last weekend with our close friends Stuart, Sarah and Pressley Carothers. We've been planning this trip since Haley was about 2 months old, and though we had a great time, it was cut short by Hurricane Gustov. We were there from Friday until Sunday morning, and had to head out. It wouldn't have been bad, but the thought of possibly having to leave loomed over us all, and it was hard to enjoy ourselves worrying about a hurricane. But, we did the best we could, got a little bit of sun, and had great company!

Haley is doing great, her sixth tooth FINALLY came through on Tuesday. So she can really chew things up now, not that she is interested in some new foods. We are trying stage 3 foods, and she isn't quite sure about them yet. She is the queen of blowing "raspberries" and she LOVES to do that to show she doesn't like something. It is VERY fun!

She is starting to pull herself over onto her belly, it is hard to believe that it is the same child who has fought being on her stomach for so long. I guess she is figuring out that is how she is going to get moving!

Ethan's parents are coming to town Saturday to see us, well probably mostly Haley :) We are excited and looking foward to their visit.

Hope all is well, and I'll keep y'all updated on crawling progress! Oh, I almost forgot, she DOES have a new talent, she claps....with her feet! I'll try and get it on video, as it is very amusing! Y'all take care!
